Let’s talk about adding Port Injection on Direct Injected vehicles like the LT1/LT2/LT4.
When is Port Injection needed?
(1) You are wanting to run full E85.
(2) Are needing to add supplemental fueling.
(3) Typically 700hp+
(4) Reached the limitation of the DI system even with larger DI Injectors and pump.
What is required to run Port Injection?
Port plates/modified manifold, rails, and port injectors, wideband (s).
Next, is how are you getting fuel to these injectors? Piggy back off your auxiliary system, or create a dedicated fuel system to supply them?
A Controller/ECU will need to be added to activate the port injection. You will need to decide how much you’re expecting that controller to do. Are you looking for something thats plug n play that does all the work for you, or a system that has unlimited input and output customization. Are you wanting safeties to protect your engine implemented?
